Kristin
Keam is an actor and singer who has worked extensively in both Australia and
the UK. In London her roles included Rose in ASPECTS OF LOVE and Mother
in WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND for Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Charity Barnum in
BARNUM, Vi Petty in BUDDY and Edith in PIRATES OF PENZANCE at the London
Palladium, where she also appeared in the charity gala of HELLO DOLLY
alongside Chita Rivera and Carol Channing. She also played Meg in the
premiere of Tony MacNamara’s THE RECRUIT.
Kristin graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts drama school
and after a few years in piano bars had enough material to move to the
comedy circuit. She appeared regularly on HEY! HEY! IT’S SATURDAY!, THE
COMEDY COMPANY and THE MIDDAY SHOW. She also sang for Graham Murphy’s
NEARLY BELOVED with the Sydney Dance Company.
Kristin returned to Melbourne in 2004 and toured the country with the
Malthouse’s MINEFIELDS AND MINISKIRTS, written by Terence O’Connell. She
also played Irene B in Craig Christie’s WATER INTO WINE which began a
new writing partnership. The pair are currently working on LOVE
EQUALS, which will be published by Hal Leonard and premieres in May
2007.
Kristin had an extensive teaching practice with London’s West End
performers, acting as vocal consultant on shows and audition panels. She
was Head of Singing at Rose Bruford College and is now their Australian
representative. She has continued coaching here and trains young
professionals at the VCA, Ballarat University and Box Hill Institute.
