An elderly shoemaker is going through hard times.  A group of elves arrive in town to help him.  They work feverishly and produce many pairs of golden slippers.  The shoemaker is delighted and so are his customers because the shoes make them want to dance.  His competitor, the evil, richest woman in town is not happy.  When she hears about the elves and their magic she plans to get rid of them.  She captures the head elf and holds him prisoner in her great big country shoe-house.  Without their leader the elves lose their magic powers.  They search for their leader and eventually rescue him.  Later, the shoemaker wins the prestigious shoemaker of the year award for his 'happy shoes'.
